BOTW #40 – Awkwafina
With a musical background in classical and jazz trumpet, it is not surprising that New York-native, Nora Lum, became an… underground rap sensation!? Going by the stage name “Awkwafina,” this chick defies the stereotypical rapper profile by being, well, a chick.
Awkwafina is of Chinese-Korean descent and she raps about it in a hilarious way in “Yellow Ranger.” Other tracks “NYC B***H,” “Peggy Bundy,” and “My V**” boasts her fearless/feminist/IDGAF/witty rhyme-style, and you can’t help but be entertained by it! Just think: super hipster and ironic combo of Kreayshawn and Lily Allen.
Peace, Love, & Rock n’ Roll,
A-Tran.
