[ALBUM REVIEW] Little Mix’s “Salute” – Destiny’s Child meets Spice Girls, So Much Girl Power
The British girl-power quartet is back with their sophomore record, Salute, and they do not disappoint. Filled with power ballads, undeniably contagious dance tracks, tight harmonies, flawless pop vocal performances, and 90’s vibes for days, you will be spinning this record non-stop!
Tracks like “Boy,” “Competition,” and “Move” showcase their signature urban-pop/90’s-tinged sound and soulful vocal performances (Destiny’s Child fans rejoice!). “A Different Beat,” “Salute” and “Nothing Feels Like You” boast the sassiness and attitude these girls can serve (Spice Girls-esque!). And for when you need someone to relate to, Little Mix has got your back with slow jams that totally speak to your feels — check out “Towers,” “Little Me” and “Good Enough.”
I give this record a two thumbs up, and I can already tell it will be one of my favorites of 2014! Check them out on tour supporting Demi Lovato on her Neon Lights Tour this year, which kicks off this coming Sunday in Vancouver BC! Click here for dates and tix.
