Keeping a band together is like dealing with all of the trials and tribulations of a family, friendship, and relationship all at once. On top of all that, you have to be able to agree and disagree on the creative aspects of the band, and everyone knows how artists can be about their art.

Swedish rock n’ rollers, The Sounds, are among few bands these days that can say they have been together for 16 years (and counting). With powerhouse rock vocals by the ever-so fierce Maja, the catchiest synth leads imaginable, driven bass lines, and guitar riffs that force your hands into rock horns, The Sounds are still a rock n’ roll force to be reckoned with.

With a setlist that felt like a “Best Of” tour (16 years worth of music is a lot of music!), it was really refreshing to hear some of the older tunes in a new light (especially a super ramped-up/synthesizer-infused/dance-ier version of “Tony the Beat”). Incorporating some highlights from their latest release, Weekend, the quintet will have you dancing and headbanging the night away.

Peace, Love, & Rock n’ Roll,
