UW’s Fall Fling 2013 Recap

This year’s Fall Fling showcased some of Seattle’s finest, props to ASUW for recruiting this local dream team! Check out my recap and relive the awesome evening on the HUB lawn.

This all-girl quartet brought us some quality indie-surf-pop vibes reminiscent of Best Coast, Said the Whale, and The Like. The band’s tight playing and pretty melodies will definitely draw you in!

With Seattle’s rap scene on the rise, Sam Lachow is a name you want to remember. His clever rhymes, extremely catchy beats, and total DIY mentality will keep him in the game for awhile!

What else could I say about this guy? This is the 6th time I’ve seen him this year and Allen always graces the crowd with his beautiful music and soul, and never ceases to get the crowd dancing and singing along. Mr. Stone and the band serenaded the crowd with his originals as well as crowd favorite covers such as Chaka Khan’s “Tell Me Something Good,” Bob Marley’s “Is This Love,” and Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come.” Allen is truly the soul man of our generation. [Allen’s drummer & organist may or may not have waved back to me, AND Allen def looked at/acknowledged me; shameless fangirling, my friends.] Check out my previous blog on him here.

Peace, Love, & Rock n’ Roll,
A-Tran.
