Capital Cities, Leagues – SnowCap Party Recap
SnowCap Party @ Pyramid Brewery – Seattle, WA 12/7/13
Everyone knows Capital Cities for their crossover/Top 40 hit, “Safe and Sound,” but most people who don’t bother to explore the rest of an album won’t know that these guys are a fantastic group of versatile musicians and are much more than this one hit! Their funk/disco/jazz/80’s-infused sound is perfect for a concert held outside in 24 degree weather because it will keep you dancing all night long. A personal favorite, “I Sold My Bed, But Not My Stereo,” was so awesome to hear live and sing along to! I must also give kudos to the band’s resident trumpet player, that guy can wail a mean trumpet solo! I highly recommend catching these guys live if you get a chance, they will win you over with a high energy show, awesome dance moves, and their great style!

Opening up the night was Leagues! This indie group may sound familiar to some of you Netflix fiends because their songs were featured on the original series, “Orange is the New Black.” Their vocalist has a strong tenor voice, and the band was tight!
Peace, Love, & Rock n’ Roll,
A-Tran.
